Summary
Letters to my (Grand)Children was a pen-pal workshop held on March 9, 2026, co-hosted with the Chinese Canadian Museum. Our surrogate seniors responded to letters submitted by our young adults, where they shared their own stories.
This cultural project connected Chinese Canadian seniors and young adults providing an opportunity to heal, grieve, and bond through collective trauma but also share collective joy. Many of our young adults don’t have a shared language and feel disconnected with their elders and culture. Through this project, we offered spaces to build those missing connections and bring our generations closer together.
Our senior responses were recorded both orally and in writing.
